GRAND BEND, Ont. — Grand Bend Motorplex, located in this small community just north of London, Ont., has announced its newest annual race: The 2002 Big Rig Truck Race.

Big Rig Racing has made its way to Southwestern Ontario and Sept. 7, certainly promises to be an exciting day. A quarter mile track, up to 20,000 plus pounds of pure truck, a rumbling idle on the starting line, the drivers are ready, the excitement of the crowd, the light is green, the roar of the engines, and … well you’ll just have to make it to the grandstand to see what happens next.

Grand Bend Motorplex, which has been in business since 1995, is Canada’s largest drag racing facility and provides a full-season of drag racing events.

The 2002 Big Rig Truck Race will hold four categories: Big Rigs, Heavy Haulers, Super Duty and Tuff Trucks. The show will also include a Show and Shine plus a Skills Competition.

Anyone interested in the Big Rig Truck Race should call Corey Jarvis at 519-857-9092 or Grand Bend Motorplex at 519-238-RACE.
