Roadranger introduces VCT Plus dampener

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Roadranger has introduced a Vibration Control Technology (VCT) soft-rate damper for Eaton Fuller heavy-duty 15.5-inch clutches.

The VCT Plus soft-rate damper helps reduce severe vibration which in turn reduces maintenance costs and downtime while extending component life. The new product replaces the original VCT.

The latest enhancement provides reduced torsional rate, improved durability and is also designed to incorporate pre-damper technology. Pre-damper is a feature that reduces idle-rattle noise in applications where torsional vibrations are growing more erratic.

The VCT Plus PD (pre-damper) consists of seven small springs surrounding the spline hub, that reduce idle-rattle when operating at low torque or engine speed with the transmission in neutral, prior to operation of the primary damper stage, the company says.
