SAF-Holland fifth wheels earn standard positioning for Freightliner, Western Star

SAF-Holland has earned standard fifth wheel positioning for all moderate and severe-duty applications on Freightliner and Western Star tractors, the company has announced.

The moderate-duty standard offering fifth wheel is the FW35 in a 12-inch sliding mount configuration. The model has a 55,000-lb. vertical load rating and features the TwinLock jaw mechanism.

The standard position severe-duty model is the FW70 fifth wheel with a 24-inch severe-duty sliding mount configuration, a 70,000-lb. vertical load rating and a 200,000-lb. maximum drawbar pull.

The FW35 is rated for multiple applications and is available in a variety of non-standard position models, including the FW33 LowLube. Option requests include air release for in-cab lock release and the electronic lock Indicator – technology enhanced (ELI-te), designed to assist the driver with coupling.

The FW35 and the FW70 are also available with the optional NoTilt, and the Kompensator mounting bracket, in both stationary and sliding mounting systems.
