Samsung launches devices for demanding work environments
Samsung has launched two new rugged devices that it says are designed for professionals working in construction, field service, transportation, and other physically demanding environments: the Galaxy XCover7 Pro smartphone and the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro tablet.
Engineered to combine durability with intelligent functionality, both devices are built to withstand tough job conditions while helping workers stay productive and connected, Samsung said in a news release. The devices feature Glove Mode, allowing the touchscreen to be used while wearing compatible work gloves. They are rated IP68 for water and dust resistance, making them suited for worksites where dust exposure or accidental splashes are common.

The Galaxy Tab Active5 5G also includes an IP68-rated water- and dust-resistant S Pen in the box, offering a battery-free tool for mobile productivity. Designed to be responsive and precise—even when used with gloves—the S Pen allows workers to capture signatures, complete forms, or annotate documents in the field, Samsung claims.
Samsung says both devices support long hours of use with enhanced battery life. The Galaxy XCover7 Pro features a 4,050mAh battery, while the Tab Active5 Pro comes equipped with a 5,050mAh battery, offering all-day power in remote and mobile settings.
Both devices feature POGO charging interfaces for quick and easy dock-based charging and offer No Battery Mode support, enabling operation without a battery when connected to a constant power source— ideal for fixed-mount applications in service vehicles or equipment.

“Whether you’re on a construction site, in a service vehicle, or outdoors in unpredictable weather, these devices are built to keep up and keep you moving forward,” Samsung said in a release.
The Galaxy XCover7 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro are now available through Samsung’s enterprise mobility partners.
