CALGARY, Alta. — Shell’s newly reforumlated Rotella T Multigrade 15W-40, is ready to hit the street.

The new oil meets the CI-4 American Petroleum Institute standards for new low-emission heavy-duty diesel engines, which will be introduced by most manufactures beginning Oct. 1.

“New Rotella T Multigrade 15W-40 is our best heavy-duty lubricant yet and is great news for all our customers,” says Shell marketing vice-president Terry Blaney. “Once again, Rotella T demonstrates excellent performance under severe conditions and exceeds the API and manufacturers’ requirements for the new EGR engines.”

EGR engines emit few oxides of nitrogen, but also require tougher engine oils that can stand up to significantly higher temperatures and soot levels. The new Rotella T 15W-40 provides ultimate protection in EGR engines, but keeps the same quality and price that make Rotella T ideal for use in pre-EGR engines, too.
