HOUSTON, Tx. – Following its acquisition of Pennzoil-Quaker State Company late last year, Shell Lubricants says it will continue marketing and selling its four top-selling oils for diesel engines.

Shell’s four top oil labels for diesel engines are Shell Rotella(r) T, Shell Rimula(r) Premium, Pennzoil(r) Long-Life(r) Heavy Duty Engine Oil and Quaker State Universal HDX.

“The decision was made in response to widespread requests from our North American consumers and distributors,” said Kevin Bryan, director of marketing for Shell Lubricants. “Each brand has a very distinct and loyal consumer base, and we are committed to the character and quality that each brand brings to these consumers.”

Shell Rotella T is a premium-quality motor oil for use in diesel or gasoline engines. It meets the warranty and service requirements of all major equipment manufacturers for on-road and off-road applications such as trucking, agriculture, and construction. Rotella T exceeds API CI-4, Cummins 20078, Mack EO-N Premium Plus, MB 228.3 and Volvo VDS-3 performance requirements. Rotella T was one of the first oils to meet and exceed the requirements for EGR engines, Shell says.

Designed for medium and large fleets, Shell Rimula Premium oils are extra-high performance, heavy-duty gasoline and diesel motor oils that effectively promote longer oil and engine life in turbo- and non-turbocharged engines. They’re available in 15W-40 and 10W-30 grades.

Developed with 100 per cent Pennzoil Purebase(r) base oil, Pennzoil Long-Life Heavy Duty Engine Oil is also an extra high performance engine oil designed for diesel and gasoline engines that require the use of a premium heavy-duty engine oil. Long-Life was one of the first oils to exceed the stringent performance requirements of the API CI-4 classification, Global DHD-1, Cummins CES 20078, and it has received Mack EO-N PREMIUM PLUS approval. Pennzoil Long-Life Heavy Duty Engine Oil provides excellent protection in diesel engines for both on- and off-highway applications, including EGR diesel engines manufactured after October 2002.

Quaker State Universal HDX engine oils are high quality fleet motor oils for use in all diesel engines and 4-cycle gasoline engines. Quaker State Universal HDX engine oils are formulated with select base stocks and advanced technology detergent, dispersant, anti-wear and anti-corrosion additives and are designed to provide excellent performance even in diesel engines equipped with Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR).
