Sherwin-Williams launches OneCure powder coating system
Sherwin-Williams General Industrial Coatings has launched OneCure, a patented dust-on-dust powder coating portfolio that allows primer and topcoat to cure together in a single bake cycle.
The company said the system is designed for OEMs in transportation, heavy equipment and energy sectors looking to reduce production time, energy use and process complexity while improving coating durability and corrosion resistance.
According to a news release, the OneCure system eliminates the need for a second bake cycle, reduces material handling, and lowers floor space and oven requirements. The company said customers using the technology have reported 30% to 40% faster cycle times compared to traditional two-bake systems, along with up to a 75% reduction in corrosion-related claims.

“Our customers are constantly pressured to do more with less — and OneCure enables them to do exactly that,” said Tommy Reno, global product director of powder coatings at Sherwin-Williams General Industrial. “If you’re building a new powder line, OneCure can significantly reduce the costs and space needed to do so. And customers who previously couldn’t justify the capital or demands of a two-bake process can now gain the added corrosion resistance of a primer system without the added complexity or costs.”
