SmartDriver program for work truck drivers

by Today's Trucking

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has worked with the Association for the Work Truck Industry (NTEA) to develop a SmartDriver program for work truck drivers.

SmartDriver for Work Truck is a free online program that will highlight tops on fuel efficiency, start/stop techniques, vehicle spec’ing and best driving practices.

It also goes into alternative fuels and technologies that can help work truck operators reduce fuel consumption. Those who score at least 80% will receive a certificate upon completion. The course will take two to three hours to complete, NRCan says.
