SPACE-EFFICIENT STARTERS

The Delco Remy line of heavy-duty electrical system components made by Remy Inc. has been expanded with
the introduction of a comprehensive aftermarket-engineered offering of five 39MT starter models that cover all
heavy-duty engine applications.

These premium new-service Delco Remy 39MT starters enable distributors, dealers and service providers to offer their customers a hassle-free, no-core program covered by Delco Remy’s 3-year/350,000-mile warranty.

The 39MT’s advanced gear-reduction technology is said to be “an excellent complement” to the company’s 42MT straight-drive-designed starter motor. By adding the 39MT to their product offering, distributors, dealers and service providers can round out their starter offering with just five additional SKUs.

The Delco Remy 39MT features a planetary gear-reduction design that’s said to offer “exceptional starting
power and durability in a highly efficient, space- and weight-saving package.” The starters also incorporate a
variety of features aimed at creating reliability such as a heavy-duty electrical, soft-start engagement-drive
system that minimizes milled ring gears and pinions. There’s also the Delco Remy Integral Magnetic Switch
(IMS) and Over-Crank Protection (OCP), said to help eliminate the leading causes of no-start issues.

The IMS technology limits the potentially damaging effects of low system voltage in the starter control circuit by
placing the starter solenoid control circuit directly on the starter, helping to ensure proper voltage during the
cranking cycle. OCP protects the starter in adverse conditions – such as cold weather, low battery capacity,
high circuit resistance issues and others – by preventing the 39MT from cranking when internal temperatures
reach a level that can cause starter damage. It automatically resets when temperatures reach a safe level.
