Thermo King sets Precedent with S-750i trailer refrigeration unit

Thermo King’s Precedent S-750i trailer refrigeration unit has been unveiled to support longhaul and local food distribution alike – featuring electrification, integrated shore power, embedded telematics, and refrigerant with a lower global warming potential.

Using the company’s S-Series engine, it meets California Air Resources Board (CARB) Ultra-Low Emission Transportation Refrigeration Unit (ULETRU) emissions standards without a diesel particulate filter.

The S-750i features several firsts, including a three-speed engine that optimizes efficiencies when managing fresh and frozen products; precise temperature controls through a next-generation control system; and a diesel-electric architecture optimized for shore power integration.

The ultimate benefits include a unit that is up to four times more efficient than a diesel alternative, lower emissions, a three-decibel drop in operating sounds, and extended maintenance intervals thanks to a drop in diesel operation.

The S-750i trailer units also come with TracKing telematics at no charge for the first 12 months they are owned.
