Tilt bed body designer names Canadian dealer network

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Jones Body Company (JBC), a new entry in the heavy equipment and auto haulage tilt bed body market has named its initial Canadian dealers — mainly various Hino locations — and has delivered demonstration units.

JBC holds the North American licensing rights to a patent pending tilt bed body designed in New Zealand. Its Class 6 and 7 straight truck tilt bed bodies are designed to add versatility to heavy equipment haulage fleets, allowing them to substitute more fuel efficient, easier to drive straight trucks for their current use of Class 8 tractor trailers, the company says.

Creditstone Motors in Concord, Ont. was the first dealer to sign with JBC. Since that initial signing, the company has added Hino Truck Center of Toronto, Ont.; Centre Du Camion UTR Inc, Montreal, Que.; Laval Hino, Montreal, Que. ; and Hino Central, Edmonton, Alta.

JBC’s Model 611 is designed for loads under 5,216 kilograms (11,500 lbs.) using a Class 6 chassis that does not require an air brake certification. Heavier loads up to 8,255 kilograms (18,200 lbs.) can be handled with a single axle Class 7 chassis using the Model 718. Remote control push button ease of operation and rapid deployment times combined with a lightweight deck structure make the JBC body unique in its application.

“We are excited to be able to offer the JBC body in Canada,” said Derek Kaufman, President of Jones Body Company. “These dealerships offer first class service to their customers and we are honored that they have agreed to carry our product line.”
