TK REFRIGERATION

The new SB+ line of temperature-control units is the latest evolution of the SB series. It includes the SB-110+, SB-210+ and the SB-310+, all for trailers, plus the SB-310R+ for rail applications. Thermo King says the new models can help offset higher fuel and operating costs and increased driver turnover.

Enhancements include OptiSet Plus as a standard feature, which aims to make choosing optimum unit settings simple for drivers while reducing errors. The results should include fewer shipper and driver errors; optimized cargo protection; fuel savings when used along with the features of the SR-2 controller; and maximum shelf life for fresh commodities. There’s a library of more than 500 temperature-sensitive commodity profiles, and you can install 64 profiles per unit.

An SB-210+ option is SmartPower, which allows the unit to operate on electric power as well as the standard diesel engine. This saves fuel and TK says it can cut operating costs by up to 75%.
