TomTom Go adds truck feature

TomTom GO Navigation has added a new truck feature specifically for Android users, customizing route plans according to entered vehicle specifications.

The trip plans account for dimensions, cargo, dangerous goods and more, while route lists identify points of interest including fuel stops, rest stops, and truck parking.

It all builds on the app’s existing features such as lane guidance, live traffic, and a Route Bar that offers a snapshot of details including routes, stops, alerts, and restrictions.

About 25% of truck drivers use smartphone apps to navigate, and the company’s data suggests most truck drivers use the Android operating system.
