Toromont announces $12 Million CAT equipment order

TORONTO, Ont. –Toromont Industries Ltd. today announced that its Toromont CAT division secured the sale of 33 pieces of Caterpillar equipment.

The contract, with the Ontario operations of Lafarge Canada Inc., valued at approximately $12 million, includes paving equipment, compactors, wheel loaders, off-highway trucks, motor graders and excavators. Deliveries are expected to occur through the first half of 2004.

Commenting on the sale, Hugo T. Sorensen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Toromont Industries said, “we are extremely pleased that Lafarge has again chosen Toromont CAT to meet its equipment needs. This is a significant order for 2004 and an important addition to the installed base of Caterpillar equipment in our territory”.
