TRAILER SUSPENSION

Hendrickson’s new Quaantum FX vocational trailer suspension is complete with HNP or HUS long-life wheel
ends. Featuring hubcap-to-hubcap warranties of five and seven years, it combines suspension components
including extended-service brakes and wheel ends, air springs and shock absorbers, to work as part of a
cohesive, long-life unit.

It includes the proprietary P90 spindle and what Hendrickson calls the industry’s first standard trailer ‘Cam Tube System’ with Hendrickson Extended Service (HXS) brakes. The combination “puts to rest the idea that trailer S-cam brakes have a short service life and are difficult to maintain,” the company says.

The P90 spindle is featured only on Quaantum FX suspensions and allows the choice to use either wide-base
or dual tires. This 90mm parallel spindle also promotes even lubrication for the bearings.

The HNP wheel-end system is a fresh design that uses ADI (Dura-Light) material for what’s said to be one of the most durable and lightweight wheel ends on the market. It incorporates twin ‘N’ inner bearings, an ‘R’ seal, the patent-pending Precision320 nut system, and a patent-pending self-centering hubcap. It’s a completely rebuildable wheel end.

In contrast, the HUS wheel end features a unitized system that aims for low-cost operation. It’s said to reduce
maintenance and eliminate seal and bearing replacement every 250,000 or 500,000 miles.

Factory installation of both HNP and HUS systems helps lock out contaminates from the assembly process to
increase bearing life and help reduce bearing maintenance.
