Trip to P.E.I. to cost more in new year

BORDEN-CARLETON, P.E.I. — It’s going to cost more to cross the Confederation Bridge on Jan. 1.

Strait Crossing Ltd. says the new toll rate on the fixed link between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island will increase to $38.50 per car – a jump of 75 cents.

Motorcycle drivers will pay an extra 25 cents, raising it to $15.25 a trip.

The rates will rise by 75 cents for trucks, tractor-trailers and recreational vehicles, while the toll for buses will go up $3.75 to $219.25 a trip.
