EDMONTON, Alta. — A massive truck and heavy-equipment auction in Edmonton has attracted thousands of buyers from around the world.

The two-day sale, which wraps up today, features more than 1,800 trucks and other equipment, and over 3,000 people have converged on the auction site hoping to score a good deal.

The auction, which is being hosted by Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, features trucks from a variety of industries, including forestry, mining and oil and gas.

Company founder, David Ritchie, was pleased with the response at the auction.

"Alberta is a very strong market right now," said Ritchie, noting there are major construction projects in all corners of the province.
