Wabash National was set to introduce its first line of dry and refrigerated truck bodies today (Oct. 28) at the International Foodservice Distributors Association Distribution Solutions Conference in Phoenix.

New line of truck bodies from Wabash NationalLeveraging decades of experience in the semi-trailer market, the company says its engineers have created a line of “high performance” refrigerated and dry-freight truck bodies for class 6, 7 and 8 chassis.

Wabash National says its refrigerated truck bodies are constructed using “state-of-the-art” bonding assembly technology combined with a patent-pending composite panel, providing up to 25% improvement in thermal efficiency when compared to conventional designs. This advanced design also reduces weight by as much as 15% “without sacrificing strength and durability.”

The company’s dry truck bodies are constructed with its DuraPlate composite panels, used in heavy-duty freight applications for nearly 20 years. The truck bodies also incorporate trailer-grade components and designs for added performance and longevity.

To meet safety considerations and regulatory changes, both Wabash truck bodies feature a rear under-ride guard tested to U.S. and Canadian standards.

Built in a dedicated facility in Lafayette, Indiana, production of the truck bodies is limited now but will continue to ramp up over the next 18 months.
