HALIFAX, N.S. — A Canadian manufacturer of on-board scales is expanding to the Australian and South African markets.

TruckWeight has inked distribution deals that expand the global availability of its Smart Scale family of wireless on-board scales.

BulkNet Pty will handle distribution in Australia while Cravan Equipment will handle TruckWeight sales in South Africa, the company announced. The company expects the scales to be popular in mining, construction, bulk distribution, flatbed and agricultural applications.

“In these vocations, success depends on your ability to maximize payload, eliminate time spent repositioning loads, and reduce the risk of running overweight,” said Peter Panagapko, president of TruckWeight. “Durability is also important. Because there are no wires or electrical connections, our scales are reliable in rugged conditions and are easy to install or retrofit. With Smart Scale, the return on investment comes that much faster.”
