HALIFAX, N.S. — TruckWeight is making it easier for customer to equip their trucks with the company’s wireless on-board scale, with the introduction of two new financing programs.

The financing packages apply to TruckWeight’s Smart Scale wireless on-board scale for commercial trucks, tractors and trailers, the company announced.

The options include a monthly payment plan for owner/operators as well as unsecured financing of up to $100,000 for truck fleets in partnership with Export Development Canada.

“We know cash flow is a concern for truck owners,” said Alex Dunphy, TruckWeight vice-president of sales and marketing. “Our installment plan for owner/operators and credit program for truck fleets will help customers focus on acquiring what they need in order to be more productive and profitable, instead of how to pay for it.”

TruckWeight claims its on-board scales can generate immediate positive cash flow for customers that routinely use in-ground scales to verify weights.

“The cost of fees and out-of-route miles that accompany the use of third-party scales can exceed the monthly payment for Smart Scale,” he explained.

Smart Scale uses sensors to measure temperature and pressure changes in a vehicle’s air suspension. It is accurate to within 0.3% of the actual gross vehicle weight, the company says.
