HALIFAX, N.S. — TruckWeight has come out with an updated version of its wireless on-board scale, featuring an improved handheld receiver and expanded memory capacity, the company announced.

The next-generation Smart Scale system is available for trucks and tractor-trailer combinations with air-ride or mechanical suspensions. It features a wireless handheld receiver that allows drivers to maximize payload and avoid overweight tickets in applications such as logging, demolition, aggregate hauling and liquid/dry bulk hauling, the company says.

New upgrades include a backlit receiver and expanded memory capacity. The backlit screen makes it easier to read weights in all lighting conditions while the expanded memory capacity allows the unit to store configuration data for up to 2,000 different trailers, making it ideal for drop-and-hook operations, the company announced.

TruckWeight has also simplified battery replacement by adding a large, glove-friendly, twist-cap access cover. The system is powered by two AA batteries.

The scale has a signal range of up to 500 feet so drivers can monitor weights from the cab, a loading station or from a safe distance away from the truck.
