ATLANTA, Ga. — Truckers stopping at the Petro Center at I-285 and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway can use IdleAire Technologies’ US$2.5-million Advanced Travel Center Electrification system.

This project will provide heating, cooling and a range of communications and entertainment packages to truckers who park to rest at the rest stop.

The hourly service price of the basic services ($US1.25/hr) is less than the cost of the diesel fuel used to idle a heavy-duty truck each hour.

It will provide truckers with an alternative to idling engines, which will improve air quality and decrease noise for adjacent neighbors.

In addition to heat and air, the basic service package includes, high speed Internet accessibility, USB connections for computer accessories, E-mail accessibility, local and long-distance telephone services, satellite television access and electrical outlets inside and our for fuel and engine block heaters and 110-volt appliances in the cab.
