IMI says its Equal Flexx internal wheel-end balancer has been approved by UPS after a two-year field evaluation across multiple commercial tire applications.

The product will be included in UPS’s 2026 Tire Solutions Program and made available through commercial tire dealers nationwide.

The evaluation covered more than 10,000 tire and wheel assemblies, including 19.5-in. and 22.5-in. Class 8 applications, under real-world operating conditions. IMI said results demonstrated consistent performance and reliability, with Flexx delivering improved results compared to traditional wheel weight balancing.

In some cases where vibration was detected, the product helped identify underlying mechanical issues such as bent wheels, out-of-round tires or loose components.

Equal Flexx is an internal balancing compound designed to improve ride quality, reduce vibration and promote more even tire wear. The company says it can also help lower fuel consumption and extend tire life.

“Tires can represent more than 25% of a fleet’s operating costs, and maintaining proper balance is critical to performance and longevity,” the company noted.

IMI said the UPS approval reinforces the product’s credibility among fleets and dealers.
