VEHICLE TRACKING

Navman Wireless North America says it has already enhanced its vehicle tracking and logistics software, OnlineAVL2, introduced two months ago. It now includes three new features: an integrated maintenance module, state mileage reporting, and automated e-mail reporting.

The new maintenance module provides a complete overview and detailed summaries of user-defined activities such as service dates, times, costs and provider, and it can track all maintenance needs from oil changes to tire rotation. Managers can specify how the data is reported, (by date, number of miles, or even days on the road). Users can pre-set warning periods for alerts.

State mileage tracking and automated e-mail-reporting employs specific latitude and longitude data from GPS logs. The software can automatically produce accurate state mileage reports for every vehicle in the fleet, while offering “seamless” report generation and distribution with automated e-mail reporting. Using a Microsoft Outlook-like interface, fleet managers can create templates, define reporting frequencies, and select multiple recipients for each report, eliminating the need to query the system for data and manually distribute information.

The complete Navman Wireless solution, including OnlineAVL2, is priced from $1.50 per vehicle per day. Existing users will receive a free upgrade that includes the new state mileage and automated e-mail reporting during the next automatic software update. The integrated maintenance module is available for an additional charge.
