PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — A new Volvo heavy-duty machinery dealership has opened in Prince George, featuring a wide range of equipment including rock trucks.

Owner Tim Martin, who served seven years as an owner-operator, opened up the dealership recently, although the grand opening isn’t scheduled until Oct. 5.

With B.C.’s forestry capital in a state of despair, some local residents were surprised by the opening. However, owner Tim Martin says “What’s a better time to open? If the markets are that lows there’s nowhere to go but up.”

Marcel’s Equipment will sell Volvo construction equipment, excavators, wheel loaders, rock trucks and graders. It will supply the highway and industrial construction sectors, in addition to the forestry industry.
