LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Wabash National Corporation has announced the launch of its new DuraPlate CargoMax domestic container. The container is designed to provide intermodal carriers with additional interior width to optimize cargo capacity.

The new container design incorporates DuraPlate composite panels in the sidewalls, nose, and doors, which are designed to reduce weight and provide strength and durability. The design also increases interior width, which allows carriers to pinwheel pallets in the cargo area and increase cargo capacity.

“We have worked closely with our customers to design and develop a domestic container to meet their growing intermodal needs and provide them with a competitive advantage in the marketplace,” said Bruce Ewald, senior vice president, sales and marketing. “With the DuraPlate CargoMax, our customers receive the unmatched durability and performance of the proven DuraPlate dry van in an ultra-wide, lightweight domestic container design.”

The DuraPlate CargoMax, which incorporates a number of standard features designed to help extend product lifecycles and reduce maintenance costs, is already being used by leading truckload carriers, according to company officials.

Wabash National introduced the new container at IANA’s Intermodal Expo in Anaheim, Calif. Nov. 13-15. For more information visit www.wabashnational.com.
