Yard management system to tackle inefficiencies

Manhattan Associates has updated its Manhattan Active Yard Management system to tackle various warehouse and transportation inefficiencies, presenting users with more accurate information and better control over yard operations.

The updated product allows warehouse and yard management teams to access real-time updates and better view movements in the yard and at loading docks.

Users can access an enhanced graphical representation of yard space and docks, as well as inbound and outbound operations.

The software makes it possible to locate any trailers in real time, at each location, along with the contents of the trailers arriving at the yard. This helps optimize trailer use by prioritizing trailers and automatically assigning them to available dock doors.

Synchronizing door and trailer assignments with warehouse activities can reduce warehouse travel, while allocating automated pre-receipts helps optimize cross-dock operations and flow-through processes, the company adds.
