WOODSTOCK, N.B — A cross-border summit scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled in the wake of terrorists attacks in the United States.

The meeting between New Brunswick Liberal MP Andy Savoy and Maine Congressman John Baldacci was to bring stakeholders from the province and Maine together near Perth-Andover Saturday to discuss cross-border issues, meet with customs officials and tour local industries.

Yesterday, Savoy, the MP for Tobique-Mactaquac offered to cancel the round-table event out of respect for the American people.

The forum was to bring stakeholders from the province and Maine together near Perth-Andover Saturday to discuss cross-border issues, meet with customs officials and tour local industries.

Savoy says the event will be rescheduled at a later date.
