TORONTO, Ont. — Ontario has introduced legislation that would extend B-train length from 25 metres to 27.5 metres.
The change would help accommodate new technologies needed to meet air quality standards and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the province announced. It was packaged within the Keeping Ontario’s Roads Safe Act, along with other amendments to the Highway Traffic Act.
Among the changes, fines for distracted driving would climb from a range of $60-$500 to a range of $300-$1,000, as well as three demerit points.
