Port implementing security station

HALIFAX, N.S. — The Halifax Port Authority recently activated a security station at the base of Pier 25 across from the Missions to Seafarers on Marginal Road.

This station is the only point for pedestrian and vehicle access to berths 25 to 31 and 33 to 34, which are located on Piers A and A1. The security station does not affect vehicle traffic proceeding to Halterm or Dover Mills.

Stop signs have been implemented at the new intersection on Marginal Road adjacent to the new security station as this intersection is necessary for both pedestrian and vehicle safety.

Access to Piers A and A1 will follow the current procedures for the two container terminals. Individuals who require access to Piers A and A1 to perform cargo or vessel related activities will be required to show a valid photo identification card.

For more information or for clarification please contact George Malec at GAM@portofhalifax.ca.
