SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Qualcomm Incorporated recently shipped 450,000 mobile communications units worldwide and 36 new U.S. carriers have signed agreements to use their fleet management systems.

Qualcomm’s OmniTRACS system is a satellite-based mobile communications and tracking system that provides real-time messaging and position reporting between fleets and their operation centres.

Dupre Transport, LLC, is a transportation and logistics provider who recently signed an agreement with Qualcomm.

"Security is the leading factor in our decision," says Tom Voelkel, executive vice-president and COO for Dupre. "Qualcomm’s system will enable us to have on-demand, in-transit visibility of our company through operating efficiencies."
