RICHMOND HILL, Ont. — Two trucks stolen over the weekend were tracked down by police, thanks to the GPS systems installed on the vehicles.

Two trucks were reported stolen from a secure compound in Milton just after midnight Dec. 21.

The fleet’s GPS system showed they were travelling on Hwy. 404 near Richmond Hill. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified and was able to use the GPS coordinates to track the vehicles down on Hwy. 7 at East Beaver Creek.

One of the drivers fled on foot but the other was taken into custody.

Balwant Singh Dhillon, 31, of Brampton, Ont., was charged with multiple offences, including theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime, failure to comply with a probation order and driving while disqualified.
