ORLANDO, Fla. — Hino Trucks was recognized this week by the National Biodiesel Board for promoting the fuel.

Hino received the Eye on Biodiesel Impact Award for its promotion of the fuel. The National Biodiesel Board said Hino served as a “trailblazer” among manufacturers in supporting the use of B20 biodiesel blends in its engines.

The Board says Hino was the first manufacturer to support he use of B20 blends in a hybrid-electric truck as well as in its complete line of Classes 6 and 7 conventional trucks.

All 2011 and later model conventional trucks powered by Hino’s own J-Series engines are approved for use with B20 biodiesel blends that are compliant to American Society for Testing and Materials standards.

“It is our strong commitment to design and assemble trucks that are at the forefront of environmental friendliness and that help to reduce our overall dependency on foreign oils,” said Glenn Ellis, vice-president of marketing and dealer operations for Hino Trucks.
