KIRKLAND, Wash. — Kenworth has added to its alternative fuel product offerings by making the Cummins Westport ISL G natural gas engine available with its T800 short hood and W900S models.

The trucks are best-suited for vocational, municipal and P&D applications. The ISL G can operate on either compressed or liquefied natural gas, both of which are cost-effective and environmentally-friendly. In fact, the engines are EPA2010-approved even with diesel particulate filters (DPFs) or selective catalytic reduction (SCR).

“The ISL G Kenworth T800 short hood and W900S models provide an excellent, low-emission solution combined with outstanding efficiency, horsepower and torque,” said Gary Moore, Kenworth assistant general manager for marketing and sales.
