Freight Shipping Costs Post Biggest Yearly Gain of 2015
TORONTO, ON - New results published by the Canadian General Freight Index (CGFI) indicate the total cost of ground transportation for Canadian shippers increased slightly from one month to the other, but turned in its best performance when compared to 2014.

Ground Freight Transportation Costs Post Slight Increase
TORONTO -- The total cost of ground transportation for Canadian freight shippers increased 0.3% in May compared to the month before, according to new figures released by the Canadian General Freight Index (CGFI). "Total freight costs increased marginally this month. Although there were slight increases in less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload cross border costs, these were mostly offset by decreases in the LTL and truckload domestic costs," said Doug Payne, President & COO, Nulogx. Compared to May 2014 the index is up 4.86%.


U.S. Spot Freight Rates, Availability Continue Lull
BEAVERTON, OR -- The availability of truckload freight on the U.S. spot market hit a lull during the week ending July 18, according to DAT Solutions, which operates the DAT network of load boards, leading to a decline in load-to-truck ratios and rates across all three equipment types and at their lowest points in at least the past four weeks.
