730 Truck Stop owner passes away

CARDINAL, Ont. — Bob Lodge, the well known owner of the 730 Truck Stop, died suddenly on Apr. 18.

A celebration of his life will be held Monday, Apr. 23 at the Cardinal Legion from 10 a.m. till 12 p.m. A truck convoy will follow, featuring Lodge’s own trucks and any other trucks whose owners would like to participate.

The convoy will run from the truck stop to Iroquois, organizers say. A luncheon will be held in his memory Monday at 2 p.m. at the Cardinal Legion and a cemetery service will take place Tuesday in Danville, Que.

The Trinity United Church in Danville will play host to a celebration of Lodge’s life Apr. 24 at 2:30 p.m. The family said donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation on Lodge’s behalf.
