CAMDEN, S.C. — Accuride has announced the acquisition of Forgitron Technologies and its 80,000 sq.-ft. forged aluminum wheel manufacturing facility.

The company says it plans to convert production at the facility to Accuride-branded aluminum wheels for the commercial vehicle market.

“This acquisition strengthens our core product offering by increasing our aluminum wheel capacity, giving us a close-to-customer production presence in the Southeast, and affording greater flexibility to balance production between three aluminum wheel plants,” said Rick Dauch, Accuride’s president and CEO. “These significant benefits underscore our commitment to maximize production efficiency and offer high-value quality products to our customers, while generating stronger financial returns for our shareholders.”

Accuride is also ramping up aluminum wheel production at its Erie, Pa. facility and will also be adding aluminum wheel production at its Monterrey, Mexico plant, the company announced.
