Accuride makes major aluminum wheel production investment

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Wheel company Accuride says it’s investing around $25 million in its aluminum wheel business, which includes two new, state-of-the-art hydraulic presses plus other tactical improvements to facilities and equipment.

The new presses are tentatively destined for Erie, Penn. And will be installed in late 2007. Additional changes to facilities and equipment are expected to be implemented during the second and third quarters of 2007.

Accuride is one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of commercial vehicle components in North America. The company’s products include commercial vehicle wheels, wheel-end components and assemblies, truck body and chassis parts, seating assemblies and other commercial vehicle components.

Accuride’s products are marketed under its brand names, which include Accuride, Gunite, Imperial, Bostrom, Fabco and Brillion.
