AFAC set to address livestock welfare

RED DEER, Alta. — The Alberta Farm Animal Care Association (AFAC) will be holding a livestock care conference next week, which aims to provide the building blocks for an integrated livestock welfare strategy.

Topics of the one-day conference will include regulations regarding the health of animals during livestock transportation and information regarding the details of a related training program, Quality Livestock Transport. Other areas of discussion will include global initiatives, codes of practice and communication within the industry.
