TORONTO, Ont. — The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) has entered into an agreement that will allow fleet members who purchase the XM Canada satellite radio service to receive a guaranteed lowest subscription price.

“Through this agreement, we have guaranteed that OTA members who wish to purchase XM for their fleet vehicles will get the lowest rate possible, hassle free,” said OTA president David Bradley.

XM Satellite Radio is a satellite radio service broadcasting up to 100 channels of music playlists, more than two million songs deep, from coast-to-coast; and provides news, sports and talk stations.

XM’s lineup also includes original and exclusive Canadian programming on The Verge, Laugh Attack, Home Ice and Canada 360 channels plus 100% French language programming with channels such as Air Musique, Sur La Route, SportPlus and Quoi de neuf. XM channel 171, Open Road, is devoted exclusively to the trucking industry audience.

“XM is a popular option in the US market and some fleet operators are using XM’s choice of news, music, comedy, talk, entertainment and the complete seasons of NHL and Major League Baseball coverage to help attract and retain drivers,” said Stephen Tapp, president and COO of XM Canada. “The fact is with up to 100 channels to choose from on XM, truckers have almost every genre you can think of right at their fingertips.”
