AirIQ rolls out new array of services
AirIQ
AirIQ Inc. announced the commercial availability of its product for flat deck trailers with headboards, adding to fleet management services already available for tractors, straight-trucks, dry van trailers, refrigerated, and heated trailers. In all cases, AirIQ’s Internet-based solution uses on-board computing, the Global Positioning System (GPS), digital maps and a wireless transceiver to locate, protect and manage vehicle fleets.
The company also announced three new products:
Stationary Status: With this feature, clients can know when their vehicles have not moved within a predetermined timeframe. AirIQ-equipped vehicles will report their location once the specified time threshold has been surpassed. The feature helps clients improve their fleet utilization and have data that would allow them to charge for demurrage (the practice of using an empty trailer as a storage container).
Get GPS Mileage: AirIQ’s on-board devices can now use GPS to calculate vehicle mileage. Clients can call the vehicles in their fleet and retrieve the accumulated GPS mileage. Once the mileage has been retrieved, the mileage counter can then be reset to zero. Using this feature will minimize the labour and processes required to manually gather mileage from vehicles.
Engine Idling Alert: AirIQ’s on-board devices can identify when a vehicle is idling and keep track of the accumulated idling time. AirIQ clients can receive reports of their vehicles’ idling times at predetermined intervals, such as daily or weekly. With this information, the client can take steps to reduce vehicle fuel consumption and other operating costs due to unnecessary engine idling.
