TORONTO, Ont. — Truckline, a prominent industry publication in the U.S. affiliated with the American Trucking Associations, today release information regarding an FBI report that alleged Al Qaeda was planning to use fuel trucks to attack targets in Chicago, NewYork and Los Angeles.

The FBI issued the report to law enforcement officials on Aug. 9, reports the publication.

Homeland Security officials have since been working to establish the credibility of the report, and anticipate releasing an update regarding this matter in the near future, Truckline reports.

“The DHS further states that although this type of threat is always possible, it is not likely at this time. If you have been contacted in reference to this alert or have directly received the alert itself, please disregard the contents and inform members of law enforcement in your area that the FBI has reduced the threat level of their alert,” says a statement released by DHS.
