Alberta driving championships to be held in Red Deer

RED DEER, Alta. — Alberta’s Provincial Truck Driving Championships will be held this year at Westerner Park in Red Deer, Alta. on June 18.

The event will kick off at 7 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. An awards banquet will follow at the Black Knight Inn in Red Deer.

Darrel and Dean Kohut of Hi-Way 9 have volunteered to be Co-Roadeo Masters, the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) reports. They are looking for committee members to coordinate equipment, sponsorship, judging, volunteers etc. To volunteer, contact Jerry Allen at 403-342-4266.

The AMTA has also announced it is looking for sponsors to help fund the travel for the Alberta winners. They will have the chance to compete in the National Championships in Moncton, N.B. Sept. 22-25. To sponsor the team, contact Peter Vaudry at 403-214-3438.
