EDMONTON, Alta. — An Edmonton newspaper is reporting the cities of Calgary and Edmonton will receive a $150-million boost to their ring roads projects.

Industry Minister, Allan Rock, has reportedly approved the funding through Ottawa’s Strategic Infrastructure Fund. The funding will go towards completing Anthony Henday Drive in Edmonton while improving Calgary’s Deerfoot Trail.

“Minister Rock agrees with the province’s priorities, regarding ring roads around the two cities,” a source told the Edmonton Journal. “The province’s allocation would be roughly $150 million.”

It’s expected the province would be required to match the contribution.
