Alberta Transportation seeks input on driver training system

EDMONTON, AB – Polling opened yesterday in Alberta Transportation’s survey on driver training.

The online survey to determine whether changes should be made to the province’s road testing and driver training requirements will be available until Jan. 2.

According to the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA), the province is particularly interested in feedback on driver training and driver examiner regulation as it conducts its ongoing review of road regulations.

Alberta truck drivers and trainers are encouraged to weigh in on whether they think road testing should be done differently, whether Alberta’s demerit point reduction training programs leads to safer drivers, and whether it is too difficult or too easy to open a driver training school.

“Now is the time to tell Alberta Transportation if you think there should be changes,” the AMTA website urges. “Your feedback is important.”

The survey, which can be found here, takes about 20 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous.

For more information on what topics are included the public survey, read the public notice.
