Alcoa restructures business units

Cleveland, Ohio (Dec. 10, 2004) — Alcoa Aerospace, Automotive, and Commercial Transportation announced that the Cast Auto Wheels business units and the wheel divisions of Alcoa Wheel Forged Products will merge to create Alcoa Wheel Products, offering both cast and forged aluminum wheels to the commercial vehicle and automotive markets.

Leading the new division will be Business Unit President Kevin Kramer, who for 21 years served in global marketing positions with Goodyear Tire and rubber before coming to Alcoa six months ago.

‘This reorganization further drives our focus on markets and customers and allows up to identify and implement best manufacturing practices and process technology across our business,” Bill Christopher, Alcoa executive vice-president, said in a release.
