Alta goes live with new online permitting system
EDMONTON — Alberta’s Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Branch (CVSE) says its web-based Transportation Permitting System (TPS) Online service is now available.
Initially launched on October 31, 2008, the service has been improved to enable registered users to apply and immediately receive a Term Oversize permit for certain specific following specific commodities, as well as a single Trip, Non-Resident permit for a vehicle that has an actual gross vehicle weight between 5,000 kgs and 63,500 kgs.

Users can also apply immediately receive a Motive Fuel User permit (based on total distance travelled in BC) and will be able to pay online for the requested permit.
The TPS Online service is available on a 7/24 basis, The service is still being improved and Release 3 of this service is targeted for Spring 2010.
