Ambassador Bridge Installing Streamlined Toll Service

ALBANY, NY, and DETROIT MI. – The owner of the Ambassador Bridge and a company that provides toll management services to truck fleets announced a collaboration to streamline toll service for commercial vehicles using the span to travel between Detroit and Windsor, ON.

The agreement with the Detroit International Bridge Co. allows Bestpass customers to pay bridge tolls using their Bestpass accounts.

It is also supposed to minimize border procession times, according to Randy Spader, manager of operations for the Ambassador Bridge.

“Being the busiest commercial border crossing in North America, it is essential that we continue facility and operational enhancements to go beyond our obligation in supporting the U.S. and Canadian economies,” he said.

The bridge serves nearly 7,400 commercial customers per day, in addition to even more passenger vehicles, while handling more than a quarter of the trade between Canada and the U.S., making it the busiest border crossing in North America in terms of trade volume

According to Bestpass, this addition comes as the company expects to have all of the major toll facilities in the U.S. under its umbrella sometime next year.
