CALGARY, Alta. — The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is expanding its popular driver appreciation barbecue initiative.

This year, driver barbecues will be held at the following weigh scales: Coutts, May 27; Vermillion, June 23; Whitecourt, July 13; Leduc, June 28; Grande Prairie, Sept. 7; and Balzac, Sept. 21.

The AMTA, along with Alberta Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers, have been hosting driver appreciation barbecues at the Balzac scales for several years. The events allow drivers to mingle with enforcement agents and AMTA staff and discuss any concerns or issue they may have in a friendly setting.

A free lunch is provided. For more information, contact Bud Rice AMTA’s at budr1@amta.ca.
