APTA hosts educational seminars

MONCTON, N.B. – The Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) will be holding its education seminars Dec. 3-5 at the Amsterdam Inn here.

Operation Lifesaver will be held Dec. 3 and will run from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This seminar is dedicated to ending collisions, fatalities and injuries at highway-railway grade crossing, promoting awareness of truck-rail safety.

On Dec. 4, the Accident Investigation seminar will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This course was designed for fleet safety personnel and managers who are responsible for the investigation and review of accidents. Wayne Foley, president of Accident Analysis Consultants, will cover policy and procedures concerning this issue.

The Supervisor Drug and Alcohol Testing seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 5. Paul Girard, regional director for FGI, will provide front-line supervisors with the required training under the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
